Solutions Architect

ECS is seeking a Solutions Architect to join our team in our Fairfax, VA office.

Job Description

ECS Federal is looking for a Solutions Architect to support a variety of initiatives, including Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and Big Data/Cloud solutions. This role serves as a senior technical leader within the Deployable AI Engineer team.

This is not a project management role; however, it requires strong leadership and deep technical expertise in areas such as software architecture and enterprise system integration. The consultant will work closely with program leadership, technical teams, and project managers across multiple efforts to rapidly develop and deploy solutions in an agile environment. The ideal candidate fosters a culture of customer service, innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as MAPP Integration Lead, coordinating deployment of hardware across multiple locations
  • Maintain accurate inventory of equipment, including deployed assets and site points of contact
  • Ensure all systems and components are tested, integrated, and fully functional prior to delivery, including follow-up post install
  • Track patches and maintain records to ensure all systems remain compliant with information assurance requirements
  • Report technical issues and troubleshooting activities to customers and stakeholders
  • Manage customer expectations regarding deployment timelines
  • Lead and support Field Service Engineers across CONUS and OCONUS locations
  • Coordinate Level 1 and Level 2 support teams for Maven products
  • Provide Level 3 engineering support and technical assistance for all AI/ML Program products
  • Develop and maintain training standards for technical staff
  • Play an active role in various cyber-related activities such as Assessment and Authorization (A&A), Configuration Management, Continuous Monitoring, and Incident Response
  • Apply knowledge, tools, policy, and procedures to implement, monitor, and manage cybersecurity risk in production, test, and development environments
  • Utilize Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Host-Based Security System (HBSS), and other tools to monitor, detect, and analyze vulnerabilities
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders concerning security compliance
  • Support and provide knowledge transfer to team members and clients
  • Work with designated ISSO's/ISSM's to ensure systems are operated, maintained and disposed of in accordance with applicable governing policies, procedures, guidelines and directives
  • Other duties as required to meet the Customer's mission requirements
  • Support cloud deployments of COTS or GOTS software leveraging OpenShift and other third-party capabilities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of experience, or a High School Diploma with 10+ years of related experience
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Experience designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-level systems
  • Experience and strong familiarity with OpenShift
  • Strong collaboration skills in fast-paced, mission-driven environments
  • Experience working with third-party vendors
  • Proficiency in creating architecture and data flow diagrams (e.g., Visio)
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Ability to travel frequently (primarily within CONUS)
  • Ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
