Position :- Sommelier

Location :- Abu Dhabi

Job Description :-A Sommelier is responsible for managing the wine program of the restaurant, providing expert wine recommendations to guests, ensuring proper wine service, and maintaining the wine inventory and cellar. The role requires strong knowledge of wines, beverages, food pairings, and excellent customer service skills to enhance the guest dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Recommend wines and beverages to guests based on their preferences and menu selections.
• Provide professional wine service according to restaurant standards.
• Develop and maintain the restaurant’s wine list in coordination with management.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of wines and beverages.
• Conduct wine tastings and staff training on wine knowledge and food pairings.
• Monitor wine inventory, stock levels, and place orders when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of wine sales and inventory.
• Build relationships with wine suppliers and distributors.
• Assist guests with pairing wines to complement meals.
• Ensure compliance with local alcohol regulations and responsible service practices.
• Support the restaurant team during busy service periods.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wine cellar and beverage stations.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sommelier or in a similar beverage service role.
• Certification in wine studies or sommelier training is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, and food pairings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service and sales abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Good organizational and inventory management skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of international wine regions and vintages.
• Upselling and sales techniques.
• Leadership and team training abilities.
• Attention to detail and presentation standards.
