Sonic Test Engineer

Role Overview We are looking for a highly skilled SONiC Automation Test Engineer with 5–8 years of experience in network testing and automation. The ideal candidate should possess deep knowledge of SONiC architecture, automation frameworks, Data Center networking, and troubleshooting complex platform anomalies. You will be responsible for building test strategies, validating SONiC builds, and ensuring robust performance across routing, switching, and platform-level features

Key Responsibilities • Design and implement test architecture for validating SONiC platforms. • Set up, configure, and validate servers with SONiC builds. • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test cases using PyTest. • Validate Layer 2 (STP, VLAN, LACP, LLDP, ARP, etc.) / Layer 3 protocols (OSPF, BGP, RIP, VRRP, ECMP, etc.), platform-specific protocols, trunk port differences, and traffic flows. • Perform validation using PTF (Packet Test Framework) and SpyTest. • Analyze and troubleshoot SONiC-specific issues including: o ARP resolution and packet flow (Routed/Switched traffic) o ASIC/Syncd process failures o Database (Redis) anomalies and inconsistencies o Blank box scenarios in SONiC • Work on Enterprise Routing & Switching test scenarios and Data Center technologies including servicing and protocol validation. • Ensure compliance with SONiC architecture and SONiC-specific commands. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for defect triage, root cause analysis, and resolution. • Document test plans, execution reports, and continuously improve automation frameworks. Required Skills & Experience • 5–8 years of professional experience in network testing and automation. • Strong expertise in SONiC fundamentals with focus on foundations, test architecture design, and SONiC CLI/commands. • Hands-on experience in setting up SONiC servers and builds. • Solid understanding of Layer 2 protocols (VLAN, STP, LACP, LLDP, ARP) /Layer 3 protocols (OSPF, BGP, RIP, VRRP, ECMP)

Job Types: Full-time, Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: ₹1,245,484.60 - ₹2,457,308.73 per year
