Position: Sonographer (OB/GYN)

Reports To: Regional Manager

Summary: The Sonographer will function as a healthcare provider who, working under the delegated authority of the supervising physician, serve as a medical imaging professional who provides clinically relevant information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of patients.


Primary Responsibilities/Duties (include but are not limited to):

Scans Routinely Performed:

  • Early OBs, viability and dating
  • Fetal anatomy scans
  • Follow up anatomy scans
  • Follow up growth, 2nd/3rd trimester
  • BPPs
  • NTs
  • Pelvic ultrasound/3D imaging of endo

  • Thoroughly explain the examination procedures to patients in a friendly, comforting manner
  • Perform scanning test/functions according to ordering physician's requisition
  • Execute protocols established by the Practice Manager and other physicians consistently
  • Set up and clean all scanning equipment and work area prior to seeing first patient

Requirements/Qualifications

Education

  • Associates Degree preferred or equivalent clinical experience

Credentials

  • Current RDMS in OB/GYN (Required)
  • Current RDMS in Abdominal (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with NTQR (preferred) Familiarity with NT scans preferred
  • Has met all relevant certification and licensure requirements required by the account

Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in a Clinical Imaging/Ultrasound environment
  • 2 years minimum of OB/GYN experience preferred
  • Ability to work with Ultrasound/Imaging software (Viewpoint, Epic, etc.) preferred
  • GE Voluson experience preferred

Skills

  • Ability to plan, organize, follow-up and multi-task on a daily basis
  • Ability to function with minimal supervision
  • Ability to problem solve effectively and timely
  • Strong interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, clinical managers and physicians

Physical

  • Light lifting may be required
  • Work in climate-controlled office environment
