- The Sourcing & Procurement Specialist is responsible for evaluating, improving, and executing purchasing activities to support organizational operations. This role focuses on supplier management, purchase order execution, cost optimization, and on-time delivery improvement. The position plays a key part in enhancing supply chain performance by analyzing spend, negotiating pricing, and ensuring adherence to company procurement policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive sourcing and procurement execution for assigned projects within the North American region.
- Conduct RFQs and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
- Issue purchase orders and manage the full procure-to-pay cycle.
- Ensure compliance with regulations related to U.S. Government and defense procurement.
- Track purchase order acknowledgments, monitor delivery status, and resolve delivery issues.
- Maintain accurate ERP records reflecting order changes or updates.
- Coordinate seamless invoice receipt and support timely AP processing.
- Facilitate resolution of supplier, AP, logistics, and customs-related issues.
- Improve key KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost savings, payment terms, and damage/late delivery claims.
- Develop and analyze spend reports to drive cost-reduction and process-improvement initiatives.
- Resolve contractual disputes and engage legal teams when necessary.
- Build effective working relationships with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Quality, and Project Management teams.
- Lead procurement-related meetings and provide status reporting.
- Collaborate with global sourcing teams to define and implement procurement strategies.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supplier management, or contract negotiation
OR 1 year of experience plus a relevant master’s degree (MBA or similar).
- Experience with purchase order execution and vendor negotiations.
- Basic knowledge of sourcing and procurement processes.
Special Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 10%, domestically and internationally.
- Must meet any applicable requirements for working with regulated or controlled materials, if necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, RFQs, negotiation, and supplier management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, formulas).
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
- Experience assessing supplier capability and supporting new supplier development.
- Familiarity with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills, including report writing and presentation abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-resolution skills.

- Understanding of logistics, customs, and AP issue resolution.

- Primarily office-based with collaboration across operations, engineering, and supply chain functions.
- Flexibility required for occasional travel.
- May include extended hours or schedule flexibility to support urgent procurement timelines.
