Sourcing and Procurement Manager

We are assisting a client in a search for a Sourcing & Process Improvement Leader. This position will report to the CFO.

The client is a long-standing integrated family lifestyle community serving Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus. This non-profit mission-focused retirement community provides a complete continuum of services: independent living; assisted living; nursing services; therapy services; fitness & wellness. This is a highly reputable regional operation with an outstanding culture.

This position will be based in the Greater Cincinnati area and offers a hybrid work arrangement option (Mondays and Fridays remotely, Tuesdays – Thursdays on-site).

Position Summary

The Sourcing and Process Improvement Leader contributes to the overall success of the organization by working across the organization to: 1. Ensure that all sourcing and procurement activities are optimized for fulfillment and cost and 2. Drive, coordination and communicate process improvement activities throughout the organization.

  • Serve as relationship owner for system-wide suppliers / vendors, establishing strategic objectives for key supplier relationships
  • Develop analytics and processes to provide transparency to organizational spending
  • Negotiate contracts with key vendors (including reviewing actual spend)
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with key vendors to drive improvement and collaboration
  • Document and ensure compliance with purchasing and contract approval processes
  • Develop and suggest methods of maintaining or improving service and quality levels while decreasing cost
  • Contribute to the development of procurement policies and procedures, leading process changes where needed
  • While final purchasing decisions may be made at the community level, this role will interface with community leadership and associates at all levels to support spending decisions and ensure key partners perform as required
  • Lead initiatives to consolidate or migrate spending decisions
  • Participate in annual planning and budgeting exercises related to procurement
  • Coordinate, track and assist with key process improvement activities across all areas/functions of the organization
  • Lead and manage miscellaneous projects and initiatives

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • >5 years of roles involving progressive responsibilities related to sourcing, procurement or supply chain management
  • Experience in senior living or healthcare preferred, but not required
  • Proficient in the use of computer applications (Microsoft Office, common ERP’s and EHR's, etc.) and ability to analyze and manage data
