Job Purpose


Lead market research and supplier identification activities to expand the supplier base, secure competitive quotations, and support the procurement strategy by delivering qualified supplier options and price comparisons for internal stakeholders.

Introduce new channels and methodologies for local and international sourcing, build a detailed database for new items, products, and services, and monitor the market for new suppliers and innovative products that support the company’s vision.


Key Responsibilities


• Conduct continuous market research to identify potential suppliers, new products, and

alternative sources for goods and services.

• Collect, standardize, and compare supplier quotations and proposals; produce clear

comparison summaries and recommendation notes.

• Build and maintain validated supplier pricing benchmarks.

• Maintain market intelligence on pricing trends, lead times, capacity constraints, and new

product launches.

• Work with end users and procurement leads to translate sourcing needs into market requests.

• Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities, quotes received, and BOQ records.

• Conduct proactive market scanning to identify new products, technologies, and alternative

materials that meet business requirements.

• Attend trade shows, supplier showcases, webinars, and industry forums to source new items

and gather supplier leads.

• Build and update supplier capability maps showing which vendors supply which new items

and categories.

• Run targeted supplier searches for hard-to-find or obsolete items and present viable

alternatives with pros and cons.


Skills & Experience


• 2–5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, vendor management, or supply chain

functions with demonstrated market research experience.

• Strong MS Excel skills and familiarity with procurement or vendor management systems.

• Familiarity with market mapping and benchmark pricing.


Education


• Diploma degree in Business Administration , Procurement Management , Supplier Relations ,

Engineering , or a related field.

• Courses related to the Procurement Industry are preferred.
