Summary of Job Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Purchasing Manager, the Sourcing Specialist is responsible for meeting the purchasing needs of Threshold manufacturing operations and supporting broader corporate procurement requirements. This role determines optimal sourcing strategies and gathers and maintains onboarding documentation for all manufactured products.
The Sourcing Specialist implements best practices to support long-term sourcing strategies, optimizing processes, workflows, materials management, system data integrity, and supplier performance. Leveraging expertise in nutritional raw materials and dietary supplement manufacturing, this position proactively identifies and resolves potential supply risks to ensure uninterrupted availability of components for Threshold products. The role requires a proven ability to track sample materials, maintain compliance documentation, and support cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
This position will be responsible for leveraging Threshold buying power to reduce costs and will be required to negotiate supply agreements as per Threshold standards and in compliance with cGMPs and 21 CFR part 111.
Specific Job Duties:

Lead negotiations on raw materials for Threshold.

Determine and recommend alternate supply strategies to create cost savings and/or supply solutions.

Ensure that purchases are compliant with cGMPs and 21 CFR part 111.

Lead Threshold in optimizing the purchasing standards for complex Raw Materials and Packaging.

Establish and implement best practices to ensure continuous supply of RM & components.

Establish a good relationship with National and International suppliers.

Onboard suppliers by collecting and managing required documentation (MAPs, contracts, COAs, etc.), coordinating sample requests, and uploading records to TraceGains.

Track sample material receipt and delivery to ensure timely processing.

Proactively follow up with suppliers, R&D, and Quality teams until suppliers are fully onboarded and approved.

Lead two-way communication with suppliers to ensure that challenges and issues receive the appropriate response.

Research and analyze market intelligence to make strategic recommendations to senior management on timely purchases.

Develop and implement long-term corporate sourcing strategies.

Build relationships with suppliers.

Support Purchasing agents in managing negotiations, pricing, quality and availability with numerous suppliers.

Perform all other tasks assigned by Threshold Management.
Minimum Qualifications Required:

Minimum 2 - 3 years’ relevant work experience in purchasing with a natural raw materials or dietary supplement company, or similar commodity.
- Extensive knowledge of global sourcing trends and best practices.

Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Technology or a related relevant degree.

Skills and/or Training Desired:
