Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Battery Sourcing Specialist to join our sourcing team. In this role, you will identify, evaluate, and onboard battery research equipment and consumables that support our sales growth. You will leverage your battery research expertise to supply cutting-edge products that enable the next generation of global energy innovations.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Global Sourcing: Lead the sourcing for battery equipment and consumables. Understand the academic and industry trends in battery research
  • Supplier Management: Identify, onboard, and maintain relationships with high-performing suppliers. Conduct regular performance reviews using KPIs and scorecards.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and contracts to secure optimal value and legal protection for the company.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends, spend data, and supplier metrics to uncover cost-saving opportunities and efficiency gains.
  • ComplianceRisk: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Business travel if necessary (less than 15%)

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical), Material Science, or Supply Chain Management. PhD is preferred
  • 3~4 years of experience in battery research and testing is required
  • 3~5 years of procurement/sourcing experience in battery industry or laboratory is required
  • Experience in negotiating agreements, pricing and vendor terms is required
  • Bilingual in Chinese, Japanese, German or Korean preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong ability to multitask while staying organized and efficient.
  • Strong time-management skills with a track record of meeting tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.
