SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Sourcing Analyst actively works on materials planning, procurement change orders, and facilitates the requoting process to ensure product pricing is updated according to changing cost drivers that affect standard costs of manufacturing.
Will work inter-departmentally to complete strategic sourcing initiatives that reduce cost and improve operational and inventory management processes that are inefficient or non-value added.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Sales Quoting:
- Requotes existing products for mgmt. review and customer submission
- Updates quotations and identifies open sales orders that qualify for repricing due to higher material cost at the time of material release.
- Aids in the preparation and review of new product quotations, as needed.
- Works with Manufacturing supervisors to gather unforeseen costs associated with products produced and addressed these through the requote process.
- Reviews profitability during requote and makes adjustments to maximize profit
- Negotiates with vendors to obtain cost effective quotes
- Utilizes discretion with profit and mark up information outside of upper management and sales
- Directs and coordinates work of others to implement correct BOM/Bill of Material as directed and required
- Effective communication with engineering and sales department daily
- Performs dock audit to verity that packing slips matches quantities, part numbers, part descriptions, lot numbers, and receipt numbers with what is on the product labels as needed.
Procurement:
- Works in cooperation with the Director of Purchasing to identify materials cost increases that affect open sales orders and develops cost increase updates that need to be forwarded to the customer
- Negotiate and execute purchase orders or vendor contracts as needed to support the critical business needs
- Actively involved in vendor negotiations to align sourcing with vendors that have competitive costs, high quality, and meet the service needs of Acme Monaco.
- Apply analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex business challenges and deliver the most effective analyses and recommendations to support company sourcing activities such as RFP analysis, supplier performance analysis, and market research
- Establishes business practice and strategy by commodity in support of company goals for cost savings initiatives, supply chain responsiveness, lean philosophy and strategic sourcing for market leadership
- Performs supply market data analysis and recommends suppliers and vendors to the business. Identifies and is knowledgeable of industry trends and category strategies
- Works in conjunction with new business development and order process, scheduling and planning
- Aids in the identification and qualification of new suppliers for materials, subcontract, and components
- Oversees “stocked” raw material levels and addresses as required with suppliers to support on-time customer deliveries and maintain minimum assigned stocking levels
- Consolidates quoting to top performing vendors
- Works with engineering on quote production accuracy
- Identifies materials savings initiatives in line with profit plan and overall business objectives
- Serve as the secondary contact for procurement related questions, training, policy and procedure interpretation and alignment by all departments
- Process purchase orders; develops bids and proposals; and reconcile any invoice discrepancies
- Tracks quote activity, makes recommendations to sales management
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION LEVEL: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Data Analysis
EXPERIENCE: • Two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
