Job Announcement – Sous Chef
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team.
Key Responsibilities & Task Knowledge:
- Assist the Head Chef in planning, organizing, and supervising daily kitchen operations
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality Oriental and Intercontinental dishes in accordance with approved menus and standards
- Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, portioning, and presentation
- Supervise, train, and guide kitchen staff to maintain efficiency, discipline, and teamwork
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene (HACCP), and sanitation standards
- Control food costs through proper portion control, stock rotation (FIFO), and waste reduction
- Monitor inventory levels, coordinate with procurement, and ensure proper storage of food items
- Support menu planning and contribute creative input for new dishes and specials
- Prepare kitchen reports, schedules, and basic system entries using computer applications
- Ensure smooth kitchen operations during peak hours, banquets, and special events
- Report equipment issues, maintenance requirements, and operational challenges to the Head Chef
Requirements:
- Arabic speaker
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role
- Strong hands-on experience in Oriental and Intercontinental cuisine
- Good computer skills
- Ability to read and write in English
- Strong leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills
Salary Package:
- AED 8,000 – 10,000, depending on experience and qualifications
