Sous Chef - Pastry

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sous Chef with a strong background in pastries. As Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in running the kitchen, ensuring food quality, and leading the kitchen team to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen.
  • Supervise and support the kitchen team in the preparation and cooking of breakfast dishes, pastries, and other cafe-style offerings.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards and meet food safety regulations.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning, focusing on breakfast and pastry items.
  • Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff, ensuring they are following proper techniques and procedures.
  • Ensure inventory is well-stocked and manage ordering of ingredients.
  • Step in for the Head Chef when necessary and maintain consistency in food preparation.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen position, ideally in a cafe or pastry-focused environment.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry preparation.
  • Leadership experience in managing a kitchen team.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
