Job Title: Sous Pastry Chef/ Senior Assistant Pastry Chef

Job Type: Full-time

Reports to: Pastry Chef/Owner

Salary: DOE, Negotiable

Job Summary

As a Sous Pastry Chef/Senior Assistant to the Owner at B. Patisserie, you will be supervising staff to to ensure production is met at the highest standards set by the Pastry Chef/Owner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Management: Oversee production and the restocking of the pastry case.
  • Scheduling: Manage staff scheduling with relation to various job stations.
  • Ordering: Supervise ingredient inventory.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to work within a safe manner.
  • Follow and promote all company policies in areas of attendance, safety, sanitation and safe food handling.
  • Working with Leadership: Follows standards set by the Pastry Chef Owner. Collaborates with reporting manager and other leadership to seek new opportunities to improve the customer experience and work flow.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal skills when communicating business needs with coworkers and staff.
  • Staff Management: Communicates job expectations to hourly employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating; and enforcing systems, policies procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 years managerial experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience with from scratch pastry production
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to manage high volume production
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects on a consistent basis
  • Spanish speaking a plus
  • Authorized to work in the US
  • Efficient problem solving skills and ability to multi-task
  • Must have and maintain an active Food Handler Manager’s card
