Position Title: TEACHER

Supervisor: Head of School

We are seeking a teacher to join our inclusive, non-profit elementary/middle school that features a STEAM-based, constructivist curriculum, starting August 1, 2026. Our environment supports small class sizes of 15 students or fewer and emphasizes creativity and student-centered learning, with involvement from board members, community stakeholders, and parents.

· Candidates should be committed to high academic standards for students and skilled at scaffolding abilities to support their success.

· Experience in planning, teaching, and collaborating with middle school team teachers is valued.

· Background or familiarity with AP-Spanish is beneficial.

· Familiarity with PRE AP classes is also preferred.

· A thorough understanding of the subject area and the ability to design and teach comprehensive units for deep learning are essential.

· Applicants should strive to develop dynamic, challenging lessons that prepare students for AP exams.

· The role requires clear communication of complex topics so middle school students can access and understand the material.

· Students’ regular assessment data should inform planning for small-group and one-on-one instruction.

· Ability to apply Understanding by Design methodology for Project-Based Learning connected to CCSS and AP test skills, including the creation of grading rubrics, is necessary.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Display expertise in assigned subjects and communicate this knowledge effectively.

· Create unit plans aligned with Common Core Standards.

· Maintain a safe, organized classroom that promotes independent learning, collaboration, choice, and engages students using various teaching strategies.

· Assess student progress and use this data to guide planning, instruction, and differentiation.

· Utilize available technology and instructional media to enhance students’ learning experiences.

· Provide responses that meet children’s developmental, social, and emotional needs.

· Promote an atmosphere of mutual respect among parents, staff, and students.

· Participate in occasional support duties, school events, fundraisers, and collaborate with colleagues and leadership on program and mission innovations.

· Design classrooms that are student-focused, visually appealing, and well-organized with relevant materials, resources, and activities.

· Develop and adapt lesson materials to encourage active student engagement.

CERTIFICATION:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required.

· Valid Texas Teaching Certificate preferred.
