Responsibilities

  • Design and implement engaging Spanish language lessons tailored to early childhood and elementary students, incorporating curriculum development best practices.
  • Utilize innovative learning technology tools to enhance language acquisition and literacy education.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, integrating subjects such as math, reading, and social studies into language instruction.
  • Provide mentorship and support to students with diverse learning needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
  • Incorporate elements of Montessori and other progressive educational philosophies to foster independent learning and curiosity.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, classroom management, and teaching physical education when applicable.
  • Support library services by integrating literacy activities that promote reading fluency and writing skills in Spanish.
  • Work closely with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and develop strategies for individual success.

Requirements

  • Proven classroom experience teaching Spanish at the elementary or early childhood level in a private school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional strategies for young learners.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with learning technology platforms and tools used in modern classrooms.
  • Experience working with children with autism or other special needs is highly desirable.
  • Background in early childhood education, childhood development, or related fields such as literacy education or math instruction.
  • Demonstrated ability in classroom management, behavior management techniques, and working with individuals requiring early intervention or special education services.
  • Writing skills that support clear documentation of student progress and educational planning.
  • Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and tutoring methods to support student achievement.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
