Special Education APE Teacher // Related Services
8 hours per day

Essential Job Functions:
1. Understands and helps others understand the Intervention and Referral Process.
2. Administers, scores, and interprets standardized norm-referenced and/or curriculum-based assessments.
3. Consults, collaborates and coordinates with team members and others working with the student, including parents, when gathering information pertinent to the student's educational program.
4. Develops and writes individual objective goals for APE students, based on current information.
5. Provides direct services to students with APE goals through implementation of appropriate lesson plans consistent with IEP goals, objectives and other deficit skills.
6. Attends and participates in team meetings including IEP, Data Review, 3yr. Eligibility and transition meetings for students.
7. Has technical skills to learn computer programs necessary to manage and complete all the required paperwork.
8. Establishes, maintains and follows a schedule at assigned schools, ensuring IEP required service to APE students.
9. Maintains and manages special education paperwork such as weekly attendance and direct service logs, and quarterly progress reports.
10. Adheres to school district's policies and procedures.
Minimum requirements:
Current teaching license in Utah
Physical Education endorsement and/or Adapted Special Education Physical endorsement
Knowledge, Background, and/or Experience in Special Education
Preferred requirements:
Special Education license
Master Degree
