Special Education Liaison at IN*SOURCE
Location: Home office located within and covering Marshall, Kosciusko, Fulton, Whitley, Miami, Wabash and Howard counties in Indiana.
Job Summary: Responsible for supporting local special education parents through consumer engagement, instructional leadership, community engagement, administrative duties, reporting and recording.
Job Details: This position consists of a 40 hour per week commitment.
Travel: Travel involved to the listed locations and periodically to other locations near central and west Indiana.

Key Areas of Accountability
1. Consumer Engagement
- Provides individualized assistance or training to parents and professionals as needed.
- Conducts outreach activities.
- Provides follow-up assistance and dissemination of materials to individuals served.
- Knows, understands and provides information and or refers families to other regional or state level organizations that could be helpful for assistance for needs outside our scope.
- Maintains ongoing contact and mentors volunteers as needed with their individual growth plans.
2. Instructional Leadership
- Conducts the marketing, planning, implementation and evaluation of community training workshops with emphasis on relationship building and reaching underserved populations.
- Schedules and facilitates volunteer training tailored to meet the specific needs of each volunteer.
3. Community Engagement
- Participates in local special education and/or disability related activities or boards and committees.
- Represents the organization at community activities, including regional and statewide fairs/conferences.
4. Reporting and Recording
- Produces high quality records of activities and demographic information.
- Collects and compiles on-site and follow-up evaluation data.
- Reports and records information in a timely manner and as needed.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Education and Licensure: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Work Experience: Experience working directly with youth, individuals, and/or families with disabilities in a professional capacity is required. Knowledge of special education rules and regulations, early intervention, transition to adulthood is preferred. Experience in adult learning practices preferred.
- Working Conditions: Must be able to perform daily work in a variety of settings. Virtual and in-person engagement is required. Must have the ability to sit and stand in the same position for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to manage moderately stressful situations. Evening and weekend work is required occasionally as is travel within the state of Indiana.
- Equipment Operated: Phone, computer, printer/scanner/copier machine, and other office equipment. Presentation and virtual meeting software.
- Training Requirements During Employment: May receive additional computer training for software packages and other updates as necessary relating to program content and management, services configuration and delivery. Must attend annual in-service training.
