We are a Preschool to Grade 12 school in the city of Rajkot (Gujarat) founded by Harvard alums. The School Counsellor is responsible for implementing a comprehensive school counselling program that attends to the individual needs of students. This involves providing counselling interventions, helping students manage their emotions, resolving peer conflicts, and guiding students through academic and career transitions. The goal is to ensure that every student has the psychological support necessary to thrive in a learning environment.

Core Purpose

To lead psychological support and social-emotional inclusion within the Cambridge International framework, ensuring mental well-being and academic accessibility for all students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Intervention: Provide evidence-based counselling for diverse issues (anxiety, grief, self-harm) and lead school-wide crisis response.

  • Inclusion & Special Education Needs: Own the Social-Emotional targets of IEPs and develop Behavioural Intervention Plans for neurodivergent students.

  • Curriculum & Peer Support: Contribute to Life Skills lessons

  • Data & Assessment: Collect, maintain and analyse data to identify educational needs, programs and maintain confidential, GDPR-compliant records.

  • Staff & Parent Empowerment: Deliver professional development for teachers on neurodiversity and workshops for parents on student well-being.

  • Networking & Referrals: Build strategic partnerships with local psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and external agencies.

Requirements

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Counselling or Educational Psychology.

  • Experience: 3+ years in a K-12 school setting (Cambridge curriculum preferred).
