We’re hiring for a full-time Special Education Teacher to join our Day Treatment Program.
What You’ll Be Doing
The Special Education Teacher provides academic instruction and support for students enrolled in the Day Treatment Program, with a focus on meeting the individualized educational needs of students with disabilities and behavioral health challenges. This role bridges education and treatment by guiding students through their online school system, adapting lessons to individual learning plans (IEPs/504s), and collaborating with clinical staff to ensure that educational and therapeutic goals align.
RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Special Education Teacher under the supervision of the Program Director of Day Treatment Program you will:
Instruction & Academic Support

Deliver specialized instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals and curriculum standards.

Facilitate and supervise student participation in online learning platforms, ensuring accessibility and engagement.

Adapt and modify lessons, assignments, and assessments to meet diverse learning needs.

Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction to reinforce academic concepts.

Individualized Education Planning

Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and 504 plans in collaboration with students’ home districts.

Track progress, prepare reports, and communicate outcomes with families, districts, and program staff.
Classroom Environment & Behavioral Support

Establish a structured, supportive, and trauma-informed classroom environment.

Implement positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS).

Reinforce social-emotional learning and skill-building alongside academics.
Collaboration & Communication

Work closely with clinical and program staff to align academic instruction with treatment plans.

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and family conferences.

Build strong partnerships with school districts, parents/guardians, and external stakeholders.

Competitive pay $100,000.00 to 116,000.00 Annually (Dependent on experience, certification and shift)

What We’re Looking For — The Must-Haves
-
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
-
Valid Colorado Teaching License with Special Education endorsement (or eligibility).

Minimum 2 years of teaching experience with students with disabilities or behavioral health needs.

Familiarity with online learning platforms (e.g., Edgenuity, Google Classroom, district-specific systems).

Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.

Additional certification in behavioral or emotional disabilities.

Experience with IEP/504 compliance and collaboration with school districts.
