Special Education Teacher

Brighthouse Academy is an ABA-based, alternative academic placement dedicated to supporting individuals with Autism and other developmental differences. In collaboration with local school districts, we provide individualized, evidence-based instruction to develop skills in both academic and social-emotional areas.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative Special Education Teacher to join our team. This part-time position will focus on creating individualized curricula for student instruction in accordance with their specific IEP goals, supporting students and staff with instructional needs, and monitoring IEP progress throughout the school year.

This position is part-time, requiring approximately 6-8 hours per week, at $65 an hour. This position has the potential to grow as student enrollment increases throughout the school year. A majority of hours worked will be on-site; however, some remote work is flexible.

Responsibilities:

• Review and monitor student IEP goals.
• Collaborate with ABA staff and administrators to ensure instruction aligns with IEP goals, best practices, and evidence-based interventions.
• Develop, adapt, and oversee curriculum materials tailored to student needs and skill levels.
• Provide coaching and support to staff implementing instructional programs.
• Participate in IEP meetings as needed and contribute to progress reporting.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Current state certification/licensure in Special Education.
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Base Pay: From $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 – 8 per week
