Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Job Summary:
The Academy for Young Achievers is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will work with a small classroom of no more than 7 students, aged 3-5 years, and will play a vital role in assisting families in navigating the early intervention process. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and specific learning plans for students with developmental or social/emotional delays. We are looking for a compassionate and experienced individual who is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for young children.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs and abilities.
Provide specialized instruction to support the educational and developmental progress of children with developmental or social/emotional delays.
Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
Collaborate with families, therapists, and other professionals to support students' holistic development and ensure a comprehensive approach to their education and well-being.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive growth among all students.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including progress reports, behavior plans, and other relevant records in compliance with school policies and legal requirements.
Support and guide families in understanding and navigating the early intervention process, offering resources and guidance as needed.
Participate in professional development activities to stay updated with best practices in special education and early childhood education.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field (early childhood education, child development, etc.).
Valid state certification in Special Education.
Experience working with young children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, and other special needs.
Strong knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and early intervention processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
Compassion, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of young children.
Ability to create and maintain a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
