Position Details

• Role: Special Education Teacher (Self-Contained or Resource Room)
• Location: On-site in Kankakee, IL
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:40 PM
• Class Size:
• Self-Contained: ~8 students with 3–4 paraprofessionals
• Resource Room: ~10 students with 1 paraprofessional

Your Impact

As a Special Education Teacher, you will:

• Design and deliver instruction tailored to individual student needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with families, general educators, and support staff
• Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
• Serve as a consistent, on-site presence dedicated to student growth

What We’re Looking For

• 1+ year of experience in a Special Education setting
• Valid Illinois LBS1 Teaching License
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• A deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and whole-child development

Pay: $51.00 - $56.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
