Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating a supportive, inclusive classroom that fosters academic achievement, independence, and social-emotional growth. You will collaborate closely with general education teachers, specialists, and families to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring each student’s unique strengths and challenges are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging, differentiated lesson plans tailored to students' individual abilities and IEP goals
  • Use specialized teaching strategies and tools to support students with disabilities, including autism and developmental delays
  • Provide direct instruction in academic subjects and adaptive physical education, as appropriate
  • Collaborate with general education staff to foster inclusive learning opportunities
  • Work with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other service providers to integrate support strategies into classroom activities
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and adjust instruction to ensure student progress
  • Maintain detailed records of academic, behavioral, and developmental data
  • Build strong relationships with families and maintain regular communication about student growth
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting and progress evaluations
  • Engage in professional development to stay current on best practices in special education

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (required)
  • Valid Special Education Credential or eligibility to obtain one (preferred)
  • Experience working with students with autism, developmental disabilities, or other exceptionalities (preferred)
  • Knowledge of early childhood education, inclusive practices, and Montessori methods is a plus
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Previous experience in a private school or physical education instruction is an advantage

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $44.00 - $48.50 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
