Job Summary
Oaktree Intervention Services (and MEC) are seeking multiple passionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers to join our team immediately. MEC serves students with low-incidence and complex learning needs, providing specialized programming in a supportive, collaborative, and innovative environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for educators looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students while pursuing Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) certification.

Position Overview

Selected candidates will begin under a PDE Type 06 Permit (Day-to-Day Substitute) and transition to a PDE Type 04 Permit (Long-Term Substitute) within 3–4 weeks. This role offers immediate classroom engagement while supporting your path to full certification.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), provide differentiated instruction, and foster academic, behavioral, and life-skills growth for students with significant disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction aligned with student IEPs.
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to support each child’s educational plan.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies for communication, behavior management, and adaptive skills.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development sessions.
  • Support the emotional, social, and academic growth of students with complex needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field (required).
  • Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities, autism, or multiple disabilities (preferred).
  • Eligible for PDE Type 06 or Type 04 Permit (support available to obtain).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for inclusive education and supporting diverse learners.

Compensation & Benefits
