Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Special Education Teacher to lead a PK3/PK4 Multi-Categorical (MCC) classroom in Cottageville, SC. The teacher will manage a caseload of 8–9 students with diverse learning and developmental needs, supported by three dedicated paraprofessionals in the classroom.

The ideal candidate will be confident in delivering individualized instruction, implementing IEPs, and fostering an engaging, structured, and supportive learning environment for young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction for a PK3/PK4 multi-categorical classroom
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide direct instruction tailored to student needs in a small classroom setting
• Supervise and collaborate with three paraprofessionals to support daily instruction and student care
• Use evidence-based practices to promote academic, social, and functional skills
• Ensure compliance with district and state regulations regarding special education
• Maintain strong communication with families, staff, and administration
• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements:

• Valid South Carolina Special Education Teacher License
• Multi-Categorical (Multi-Cat) Endorsement required
• Experience working with early childhood or special education preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with support staff and related service providers

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45.00 - $52.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
