Special Education Teacher

EMIT Learning is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to work on our school campus in Lancaster, CA, for the remaining and for the upcoming 2026-27 school year.

Position Details:

• End Date: June 2026 (with strong potential for renewal for the 2026–27 school year)
• Schedule: Monday – Friday | Standard School Hours
• Credential Required: Mild/Mod or Mod/Sev

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate students with various disabilities, including speech therapy and behavioral health needs.
• Utilize behavioral management techniques to foster positive classroom behavior and facilitate social-emotional development.
• Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other specialists to support student progress.
• Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to evaluate student learning and development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid teaching certification/license in special education or relevant credentials for working with children with disabilities.
• Experience working with students in classroom settings, including preschool or early childhood education environments.

Familiarity with IEP development, speech therapy techniques, behavioral therapy, and behavior management strategies.

Pay: $58.00 - $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
