Special Education Teacher, Elementary

Role and Responsibilities:

Shore Educational Collaborative is hiring a Special Education Teacher to educate Elementary-Aged students with Autism and/or other developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include:

• Provide specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student’s IEP while addressing grade-level content standards with modifications and accommodations as necessary.
• Utilize positive reinforcement, behavior modification, and classroom routines to shape positive behaviors and create an inclusive safe environment where learning can occur both academically and socially/emotionally.
• Implement a collaborative relationship with each student’s service providers.
• Maintain regular communication with the families of students in your classroom regarding their progress.
• Develop and implement Individual Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) where necessary.

Current DESE licensure in Moderate Disabilities or Severe Disabilities preferred. Experience working with students with Autism and knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis preferred. Candidates who are close to licensure, who are eligible for licensure, or who have a different DESE license and are willing to pursue the appropriate licensure will be considered. Salary range: $61,841.28-$119,932.8 commensurate with experience and education. View our salary schedule here. This position will include a mandatory, five week annual summer program, starting with the summer of 2025. Summer pay is in addition to the salary above.

Teachers in Educational Collaboratives participate in the Massachusetts Teachers' Retirement System.
