Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. This role involves working with students who have diverse learning needs, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, and other special requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education, excellent communication skills, and a passion for fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Duties
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Create engaging lesson plans that incorporate various teaching strategies to support literacy education, math, and behavioral management.
- Utilize curriculum development techniques to adapt materials for students with different learning abilities.
- Provide speech therapy and early intervention strategies as needed to enhance communication skills.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using behavioral therapy techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Conduct assessments and standardized testing to monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other educational professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in IEP meetings to discuss goals and achievements.
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and growth among students with disabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; certification in special education is preferred.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Strong classroom management skills and experience in early childhood education or preschool settings.
- Proficiency in lesson planning, tutoring, and mentoring students with diverse needs.
- Knowledge of behavioral health practices and experience implementing behavioral therapy techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with library services and resources that can enhance educational experiences for students.

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
