Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland (HFHMM) is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Special Events & Marketing Specialist to support the planning and execution of special events while strengthening our brand through strategic marketing and communications efforts. This role plays a key part in advancing our mission to build homes, communities, and hope.

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Events, the Coordinator will assist in event logistics, sponsor and donor engagement, content development, and promotional campaigns to increase visibility, participation, and revenue for both affiliate and ReStores.

Key Responsibilities:

Special Events

  • Support planning and execution of special events including annual Golf Tournament, Women Build, Polo classic, Benefit Breakfast, Interfaith Events, Home Dedications, and other mission-driven events.
  • Coordinate event logistics including vendor communication, sponsorship fulfillment, registration management, and on-site event support.
  • Research, develop, and implement systems to track event attendees.
  • Assist in developing sponsorship materials and tracking sponsor benefits.
  • Manage event timelines, run-of-show documents, and volunteer coordination.
  • Support post-event follow-up including donor acknowledgments and reporting.
  • Develop relationships with vendors to sustain and increase awareness around Habitat’s mission and special events.
  • Represent HFHMM at community events as needed.

Marketing & Communications

  • Assist in strengthening HFHMM’s brand through strategic outreach and promotional initiatives.
  • Support content creation and curation across digital and print platforms for the affiliate and ReStores (email marketing, social media, website, flyers, newsletters).
  • Create and update marketing materials for the affiliate and ReStores as needed.
  • Maintain a comprehensive 12-month marketing calendar.
  • Manage affiliate and ReStores’ social media accounts and online communication channels.
  • Coordinate marketing campaigns to promote events, fundraising initiatives, homeownership programs, the mission, and ReStores.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all materials and communications.
  • Capture and share impact stories highlighting families, volunteers, and partners.
  • Coordinate public relations efforts, including drafting press releases and media alerts.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media contacts.
  • Monitor and report on marketing metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness and ROI.

Other Duties:

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in events, marketing, and/or public relations.
  • Proven experience managing social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit marketing and community engagement preferred.
  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing strategies, including traditional and digital approaches (SEO, SEM, SMO, and SMM).
  • Demonstrated experience managing digital advertising campaigns, including Google Grant Ads, Google Ads, and social media advertising.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and marketing design tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with CRM platforms and analytics tools, including Google Analytics and Meta Business Suite.
  • Experience with Constant Contact is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Highly detail-oriented and well organized.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
