Thrive Nannies is seeking a warm, engaging nanny with strong Autism experience to support a bright and curious 10-year-old boy in Dallas on weekends. The ideal candidate brings a calm, positive presence and has the intuition to read a child’s cues, adjust their approach accordingly, and build rapport through gentle structure, creativity, and fun.

This position is a great fit for someone who already works in Special Education, speech therapy, occupational therapy, or ABA—or for a college student preparing for a career in one of these fields. Experience working with neurodivergent children in professional or structured settings is preferred.

This young learner communicates using short utterances and enjoys educational activities like numbers, letters, and early reading. He thrives with caregivers who are patient, observant, and able to support his growth through thoughtful interaction and play. Outings, life skills, and light learning activities may be included as appropriate.

To support the child’s ability to generalize skills and tolerate schedule changes, the family would like the AM and PM caregivers to occasionally switch shifts (approximately 1–2 days per month), with advance planning and mutual agreement. This is not required every month if schedules do not align, but candidates should be open to this type of collaboration

The family has a small dog and a backyard pool, so comfort around pets and confident water safety skills are essential.

General Duties of the Nanny Include:

  • Planning engaging, age- and skill-appropriate activities
  • Supporting communication and self-help skill development
  • Responding intuitively to the child’s mood and cues
  • Providing a calm, cheerful presence that encourages connection and learning
  • Collaborating with the family as needed to support consistency

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience supporting children with Autism
  • Background in (or pursuing) SpEd, SLP, OT, ABA, or a related field
  • Ability to monitor children in and around water
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain)
  • Reliable transportation and comfort with community outings
  • Strong observational and responsive skills
