Thrive Nannies is seeking a calm, emotionally intelligent, and experienced nanny to support a 7-year-old boy with mild Autism and PDA in a long-term role through the summer and into the school year.

The child is bright, verbal, and independent in age-appropriate life skills He thrives with caregivers who are attuned, flexible, and able to support his emotional regulation—especially during transitions or non-preferred activities.

The family has established supportive systems and a behavior plan that the nanny will follow, making this a structured and well-supported environment.

This is a collaborative, respectful household that values their nanny as a professional and provides clear communication, structure, and support.

Responsibilities Include

School Year:

• Preparing lunches and after-school snacks
• Supporting homework and school routines
• Assisting with dinner preparation
• Helping guide age-appropriate independence and chores

Summer:

• Planning engaging, developmentally appropriate activities
• Driving to camps, activities, and outings
• Swimming supervision (must be a strong swimmer)
• Light meal prep (lunch/snacks, occasional dinner support)

General:

• Supporting emotional regulation using a flexible, child-centered approach
• Engaging in play that builds connection and confidence
• Light household tasks related to the child

Ideal Candidate

• 3+ years of childcare experience (Autism/PDA experience strongly preferred)
• Calm, patient, and highly adaptable
• Skilled in supporting regulation without escalating situations
• Comfortable using choice-based guidance and flexible structure
• Able to disengage appropriately and avoid power struggles
• Strong communicator and dependable professional
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
• Comfortable with dogs (family has two friendly dogs)
• Strong swimmer (pool on property)

Additional Opportunities

• Occasional overnight care is required as part of this role (with advance notice)
• Overnight rate: hourly pay for awake hours + $150 overnight fee
• Opportunity to travel with the family (optional)

Additional Notes

• The nanny will have access to a clear behavior plan and caregiver guide to support consistency and success in the role
• Consistent attendance and reliability are especially important due to the child’s need for routine

Pay: $26.50 - $29.50 per hour
