The Specialist provides technical and functional leadership for the Health and Medical Sciences program area, assisting in the expansion, implementation, and maintenance of courses and programs. This role involves coordinating curriculum development with teachers, business and industry representatives, and cross-curricular stakeholders, while collaborating with central office departments on strategic priorities. Responsibilities include designing and delivering professional learning for high school teachers, providing instructional coaching, establishing appropriate learning environments, promoting career and technical student organizations, evaluating workforce development opportunities, and monitoring performance data to support program planning and expansion. The Specialist also prepares information for presentations and stays updated on current trends in Health and Medical Sciences and Career and Technical Education.
