Introduction:
The Aga Khan University was found in 1983 as Pakistan’s first private university, Aga Khan University is a not-for-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. Starting in 2000, the University expanded to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, United Kingdom and Afghanistan. AKU began life as a health-sciences university.

The primary goal of the Centre of Excellence, Trauma and Emergencies (CETE) is to improve health outcomes of individuals and populations affected by trauma and emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, complex humanitarian crises, disasters due to climate change and large-scale epidemics. The CETE will work with AKDN partners (including the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat), global academic and response institutions, governments, private sector and funding agencies to strengthen day-to-day trauma and emergency systems as well as disaster preparedness and response in low and lower middle income countries, especially those where AKU and AKDN is active.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to:

  • develop and implement data quality standards and protocols
  • regularly audit datasets for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • coordinate with stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies and ensure compliance with organizational stakeholders
  • establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures
  • monitor regulatory requirements related to data management and ensure compliance
  • conduct regular data privacy assessments and implement necessary measures to protect sensitive information
  • utilize analytical tools and techniques to extract insights from complex datasets
  • generate periodic reports and dashboards to communicate key findings and performance metrics
  • collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations for process improvements.

Requirements:
You should have:

  • a master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent with additional professional certifications in data management and analysis
  • at least five years of relevant work experience in data management, data analysis, and statistical modeling with at least two years of experience in handling big data
  • experience in designing, implementing and managing large databases
  • experience in dashboard development
  • proficiency in Redcap, STATA, R, and Python
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • ability to work collaboratively with other team members and stakeholders
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
