Your role at a glance

The role of Critical Facilities Operations and Maintenance Engineer is a seasoned subject matter expert, responsible for working with all major systems within a facility or building such as electrical and HVAC systems and performs regular maintenance on all systems.

This role designs, plans, installs, and / or maintains mechanical, electrical, and other infrastructure systems in mission-critical, high-risk, or high-reliability data center environments.

What we are looking for

Key Responsibilities: Specialist - Data Center Operations - IBMS IT/OT Managing the entire IT / OT setup & infrastructure installed for DCs – including BMS / ACS / CCTV / BHMS & other systems, to ensure the setup is always running at latest or N-1 versions. Managing the IT (servers , switches, storage , firewalls,,,etc) & OT devices, through required support from OEMs / System Integrators Ensuring compliances of NTT IT standards / Cybersecurity requirements / other NTT guidelines & Policies Tracking the firmware versions / BIOS versions / O.S Versions & planning upgradations of all IT / OT devices Ensuring implementation of the NTT password policies, across our entire setup Tracking of Installation dates & ensuring lifecycle management , including planning & replacement of EOL / EOS devices, pro-actively Ensuring restricted & authorised access, only through permitted tools e.g PIM for all vendors & employees Restricting user access for entire setup, to only authorised personnel Ensuring & tracking Vulnerabilities (V.A) fixing for all applications, on continuous basis, through all stakeholders Ensuring & tracking Vulnerabilities (V.A) fixing for all network switches & devices on continuous basis, through all stakeholders Arranging necessary connectivity for various projects & requirements, through firewalls from respective stake holders Ensuring cyber safe environment of entire setup , as per requirements – including permitting communication only through required ports / channels & firewall rules and policies Setting up of new servers or other IT infra, as per new requirements (NTT / customer projects) Creating / Validating network architectures for various new requirements (NTT / customer projects) Managing updated inventories of all IT / OT devices Planning Installation of NTT security tools on all new Servers & devices, before connecting in Production Environment Ensuring all devices covered under NTT Inframanagement team, for support Tracking & arranging AMCs of all IT devices Sensitivity Label: General Assists in the development of and coordinates the execution of the IT strategy ensuring alignment to the overall business strategy. Ensure that network equipment, hardware, and software, services meet the business requirement. Influence the strategic technology planning of the organization ensuring that strategic and high-impact technologies are utilized to ensure its competitive positioning. Develop annual technology goals and detailed plans for goal accomplishment. Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the infrastructure and ensure that the company stays current and competitive in terms of infrastructure and services. Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing systems and software packages. Manage and maintain applications and systems and the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of the local area network hardware and/or software. Assists with the development and maintenance of technology policies, standards and procedures manual, and the related technology checklists and provide written technology policy guidance to managers and supervisors. Ensures the continual functioning of mission-critical operations and assists with the planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluation of the operations of the information systems. Assist with the development and management of a technology budget and monitors and approves related expenditure for their area of responsibility. Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes: Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and high levels of attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work well independently and productively with minimal supervision Ability to work well in a team environment Ability to operationally lead and manage a team of specialists and/or individual contributors Demonstrated client engagement skills coupled with the ability to conduct presentations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Proactive in approach with have high levels of motivation, being a self-starter with good planning and organizing skills Methodical and analytical and they have good knowledge of project management principles Positive role model, demonstrating the ability to coach, inspire and mentor others Exhibit sound and accurate judgment and logical reasoning, demonstrating a positive and proactive attitude Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize A firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices Comprehensive understanding of network architecture and client/server technology Academic Qualifications and Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience Relevant certifications, e.g. ITIL / CCNA Required Experience: Demonstrated atleast 5 – 7 years of experience working in IT operations Demonstrated team leadership and management experience Demonstrated technology and business leadership experience Some experience working as part of an Agile team, using Agile principles and methods Relevant business experience (particularly experience gained within the fields of project management, technical support, systems programming, or computer operations) would be beneficial Knowledge and Attributes: Seasoned understanding of safe work practices, which are set by safety regulations and legislation. Seasoned proficiency of sensitive facility components that may be impacted by failures or malfunctions of infrastructure systems. Seasoned knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel and Outlook. Seasoned knowledge of CMMS systems. Seasoned knowledge of critical facilities operations and maintenance. Seasoned knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety monitoring and control systems typically used in critical environments. Ability to maintain a positive and professional working relationship with cross functional teams. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrates good analytical skills, having an ability to analyze, refine, summarize, and clearly present data and information. Possesses passion for service, self-motivated, proactive by going beyond the call of duty and has an ability to handle multiple tasks. Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment. Academic Qualifications and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or related field Trade Certification or state license in Electrical or Mechanical (HVAC) Professional affiliations (7x24 Exchange, IFMA, Data Center Pulse, etc.) Experience required: Seasoned experience working in a similar engineering role, preferably a data center environment. Seasoned experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, controls, or other technical engineering and maintenance field. Seasoned experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings. Seasoned experience in facilities / building maintenance. Seasoned experience in designing, planning, installing and / or maintaining mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other infrastructure systems in mission-critical, high-risk, or high-reliability environments such as data centers or utilities infrastructure. #LI-GlobalDataCentres
