Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Architect with over 10 years in IT and at least 4+ years in data architecture or principal data engineering roles. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and govern large-scale data platforms in cloud environments, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and govern enterprise data architecture, including data lakes, data warehouses, data marts, and operational data stores (ODS).

• Lead the implementation of cloud-based data solutions using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Architect scalable data ingestion, transformation, and governance frameworks aligned with organizational data strategy.

• Define data modeling standards and implement relational and NoSQL database solutions.

• Develop and optimize modern data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery).

• Leverage Big Data and streaming technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, and Kinesis.

• Establish data security, access control, and governance policies across the data ecosystem.

• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to align data architecture with business goals.

• Mentor data engineers and ensure best practices in data design and implementation.

Education

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in UK financial services or pensions administration domain.

• Background in product-centric or SaaS environments.

• Knowledge of MLOps principles and architectures supporting machine learning and GenAI applications.

• Relevant cloud certifications such as:

  • AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty

  • Azure Data Engineer Associate

  • Google Professional Data Engineer
