Specialist, Learning Analytics and Adoption

BASIC FUNCTION:
  • Contribute to the development of learning processes, measurement practices, products and services for Goodwill Academy(GWA), GII’s learning and development function that trains critical roles across mission, retail and support functions for Goodwill member organizations.
  • Provide expertise to Goodwill Industries International, Inc. staff and local Goodwill team members on data-informed best practices for learning & development.
  • Use data to design and continuously improve scalable processes, resources, and support services that enable member organizations to effectively engage with the Goodwill Academy ecosystem.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
  • Define success metrics and adoption indicators for Goodwill Academy products and services.
  • Partner with Data Center of Excellence and Digital & Technology Services teams to track usage, engagement trends, and participation data within the LMS and related platforms.
  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize feedback (quantitative and qualitative) from learning events, resources, and services Assist in developing and facilitating webinars to the internal GII team and the broader Goodwill network on learning topics.
  • Translate data and insights into actionable recommendations to improve engagement strategies, user experience, and services.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance learner and administrator experience across GWA products and services, including the LMS.
  • Design, develop, document and maintain scalable resources and processes for learning and development
  • Support the maintenance and growth of Goodwill’s learning and development community of practice, including planning and facilitating Training Affinity Group sessions and webinars.
  • Provide targeted one-to-one and cohort-based support to member organizations based on needs and data trends.
  • Serve as an L&D strategic business partner to1-2 other GII departments, building the departmental relationship and reinforcing GWA processes and procedures.

  • Perform administrative tasks including course catalog update, data entry, and others as needed.
  • Assist with developing internal processes and procedures for learning events and serve as a liaison to departments
  • Other related duties as needed.


RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Internal: Regular contact with Senior Manager of Learning Delivery& Impact, Goodwill Academy Team, and Data Center of Excellence team. Semi-regular contact with team members from other departments.
  • Goodwill Members: Regular contact with local Goodwill organizations
  • Outside: Some contact with consultants, suppliers, and outside experts, as needed
  • Government Officials: N/A


SKILLS NEEDED
2:
  • Demonstrated ability to understand learning needs and manage the learning experience to ensure effective learner results
  • Strong understanding and application of adult learning theory, organizational development, competency and skills frameworks, curriculum development, industry standards, and best practices
  • Strong statistics background
  • Practiced in the ethical use of AI tools
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools, including PowerBI
  • Proficiency in coding languages
  • Ability to solve problems creatively
  • Proven ability to use data for continuous improvement and evaluation
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation and training skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Ability to work with a wide array of team members from various levels within the organization
  • Ability to work with diverse member organizations to understand needs, concerns, and opportunities
  • Ability to manage vendors to effectively scope requirements and manage timelines, budget, and deliverables
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and other learning technology
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook) and Google G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

EDUCATION:


Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, Organizational Development, Adult Learning OR Bachelor’s degree Data Science, Business Analytics, or equivalent degree or work experience.


EXPERIENCE:


Strong background in adult learning and workforce development, training and development, and design methodologies like identifying customer needs and providing appropriate solutions. Strong experience in data analytics. Experience managing communication with external and internal stakeholders (customers, product owner, executives, etc.). Minimum 5 years of experience creating and delivering training, or equivalent work experience. Experience using learning technology tools and applications.


DECISION MAKING:


In general, latitude is given to determine approaches, procedures, and methodologies for accomplishing the work. Receive administrative review. Work is reviewed to assure that it is conceptually sound and meets assignment objectives.


SUPERVISION:


Capacity to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams with other GII staff. Works with general supervision.


PHYSICAL EFFORT:


Typically sedentary, lifting 10 lbs. maximum.
