Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position may need to oversee student assistants and coordinate volunteers.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, professional journals, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, and to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform calculations on standard measures of American currency and weight, volume, and distance.
Ability to exercise sound judgment to interpret and carry out instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, chart, or schedule form. Ability to solve practical problems and manage a variety of variables in situations with limited standardization.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and library software.. Within three months of hire, employee must be able to use college e-mail and other college required software, be able to navigate the library management system software, and utilize digitization tools and best practices for document preservation. Must also be able to utilize library statistic, reservation and libguide software. Should be able to assist students with connecting to the college Wi-Fi; scanning and computer printing and demonstrate how to navigate the library’s online catalogue system.

Responsibility for People and Property:
This position will assist with the accession and deaccession of library materials.
This position will assist with the disposal of library materials.
This position will assist with digitization and maintenance of electronic resources.
This position will assist with security and safety protocols as necessary in emergency situations.
Responsibility for Communication:
This position has daily contact with State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota students, staff and faculty.
This position has routine contact with library staff from other college and university libraries, outside vendors of library resources, and the general public via phone, email, video meetings or in person.
