DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will work with operations personnel from the Cold Roll Mill team and the Central Warehouse Spare Parts area to optimize daily operations to meet the business goals of ArcelorMittal Calvert.


The Basics:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5-7 years of warehouse/logistics experience
  • Computer skills, to include intermediate capabilities using Microsoft Office Outlook/Word/Excel/Teams
  • Advanced knowledge of warehouse and inventory management including troubleshooting
  • Must be able to adapt and prioritize variable mill requirements
  • Experience with continuous improvement processes
  • Schematic/Print Reading Skills

The Extras:

  • Associates degree or higher is desired
  • SAP user experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance in an industrial environment is desired
  • Working knowledge of Quality Assurance/Quality Control inspections
  • Experience training and leading others preferred

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The materials coordination function has the primary control of and responsibility for parts and materials delivered from supply chain. This includes:

  • Optimization of the workflow, in terms of receiving, issuing, transferring, cycle counting, pickup and/or delivery of spare parts, scrapping of spare parts, and emergency (p1) deliveries to the mills
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies, completing inventory risk assessments / requests
  • Ensures inventory management is accurate for each shift
  • Participates in the development of operational procedures, process improvement activities, Key Performance Indicators
  • Careful handling and storage of parts and materials, which may include forklift operation
  • Proper storage of toxic or hazardous chemicals, solvents, and components
  • Performing verification QA/QC (right model, serial number, correct measurements, no damage, etc.) of incoming parts and materials
  • Creates material master numbers, performing criticality assessments
  • Tagging and segregating any nonconformance parts for disposition
  • Tagging parts/materials with ID tags, applicable work orders, and pic tickets
  • Kitting and Staging parts and materials for scheduled work as applicable
  • Receiving, documenting (within SAP), and returning any used parts
  • Coordinating refurbishments, including shipping, receiving, and tracking
  • Create and approve gate passes and T-Slots

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office and Industrial/mill environment in Calvert, Alabama
  • Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
  • General working hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a 30-min lunch break
  • Semi-Annual Outages (typically twice per year) are 12-hour days and scheduled for at least 6 consecutive days, likely through a weekend as well
  • This position will be trained and occasionally required to operate industrial forklifts
