Key Roles & Responsibilities Strategy & Business Planning
- Support the delivery of Sales and Marketing strategy for the Project Logistics business to align efforts to the vision, mission, objectives, initiatives and execute action plans
- Execute the business plan actions and initiatives to achieve the set-out business objectives Budgeting & Resource Planning
- Review resource budgets against the actuals costs and escalate any deviations to implement corrective actions if necessary
Commercial
- Support the Manager to perform any activity required in the commercial value chain end-to-end i.e., Business Development, Proposals, Suppliers, bookings, Execution, Invoicing, Collecting, so that the early growth phase of the function can be agile and consistent with the nature of project related work
- Evolve the scope of services of the project product to ensure clear market fit.
- Process and follow upon collection for project cargo shipments to obtain end results such as payment
- Provide pricing and proposals, method statements and transportation plans to ensure that the commercial due diligence translates into profitable operations
Execution / Operations (efficiency, cost, quality)
- Trouble shoot for loading/unloading, packing, and coordination of project moves
- Monitor subcontractors' performance and KPIs, and devise corrective plans if needed to build likelihood of strong delivery inputs for business execution
Performance Management & Development
- Recommend and implement actions to close any gaps in the management and training of handling specialized cargo shipments to assist to build delivery capability within teams
- Promote clear value chains, process, responsibilities, interfaces, and handover points internally and within business units to support sustainable business continuity
Governance & Control
- Comply with all internal procedures as well as all government regulations so that business operations are sustainable
- Recommend and implement continual improvement and lessons learned approach & tools to ensure sustainable process improvement
Reporting
- Deliver reports and contribute to forums for communication of progress against objectives, KPI's and general business performance updates
Other
- Perform other job-related duties and projects as assigned
Communication
- Internal Communication:
- Manager - Project Logistics, Senior Manager - Industrial Logistics, Transport
- Manager - Freight Logistics
- - Project scoping and execution for internal and in-between BU resources such as transport, lifting, shipping etc.
- - Carriers (Liner/bulk), Cargo Agents, Heavy lifters, Transport contractors, Ports/ airports / terminals
- - Commercial pricing activities. Project scoping and execution for external resources such as contractor transport, lifting, shipping, etc
Skills
- Education & Professional Qualification:
- - Bachelor's Degree in the relevant field
- - 4 - 6 years of experience in project logistics
- - GCC experience preferred
- - Good knowledge of Office and web applications
- - Business fluent English; Arabic is preferred
- Market/Industry/Functional Knowledge:
- - Knowledge of local and regional Customs procedures and legislations
- - Knowledge of the domestic and international Logistics business and all related operations
- - Knowledge of supply chain management best practices
