Overview

Position Title: Specialist – Registration I
Location: 201 Pennsylvania Parkway, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46280
IUHMG M-Methodist Medical Plaza North
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

As a Specialist – Registration I, you will play a vital role in facilitating patient flow, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and delivering excellent customer service. Position Responsibilities:
Facilitate patient flow from entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
Obtain and verify demographic and financial information to generate accurate records, ensuring maximum reimbursement and optimal clinical outcomes.
Schedule appointments and interview patients to gather appropriate medical information.
Explain charges, policies, and procedures of the department/hospital to patients and visitors.
Validate and enter charges into the system accurately.
Collect payments and explain billing policies.
Answer incoming calls, direct patients and visitors appropriately, and provide excellent service.

Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Prefer relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
Ability to learn and retain medical coding, including ICD-10 and CPT coding (preferred).
Ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology is a plus.
Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
