Role Overview
The Specialty Services Mechanical Engineer I supports turbine outage execution by applying mechanical engineering techniques related to the installation, inspection, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of steam and gas turbines, valves, generators, and auxiliary equipment. This role collaborates with internal teams and customer personnel, interprets technical documentation, and ensures safe and efficient field operations. The position requires strong technical aptitude, communication skills, and the ability to work in a demanding field environment with extensive travel and extended work hours.
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrates Mitsubishi Power core competencies: action-oriented, change champion, customer-focused, committed to developing self and others, and strong sense of ownership.
Provide on-site support for the repair, analysis, and operation of customer equipment, including steam turbines, gas turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems.
Demonstrate basic understanding of welding processes including TIG, MIG, and SMAW as well as basic machining operations including lathes, knee-mills, boring bars
Prepare accurate and timely field service documentation, including status reports, timesheets, evaluations, turnover packages, expense reports, and technical records.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Ability to read technical documents and prepare clear reports.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
Physical & Safety Requirements
