Job Summary: The Specimen Management Lab Tech/Courier is a hybrid position that will involve conducting lab practices and driving when needed. Needs can vary from processing samples, to conducting sample pickups from veterinarians across the valley.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely transport laboratory specimens, medical records, and supplies in a timely manner.
• Use an online portal to accurately track items throughout the transportation cycle.
• Exhibit safe and courteous driving behavior at all times.
• Present a professional and positive image to clients and the public, both in appearance and interactions.
• Assist customers with ordering and navigating the online portal.
• Operate Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), including entering patient demographics and test specifications.
• Receive and prepare samples for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper preparation for each department's testing.
• Verify the accuracy of all information, including labels, samples, and requisition forms.
• Restock laboratory supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation.
• Strictly follow operational policies, procedures, and service schedules.
• Observe physical demands, including driving for extended periods and performing manual tasks.
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Lift, move, and carry items up to 50 pounds as necessary.
• Flexibility for extended hours when required.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle a variety of tasks effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Veterinary Technician Experience: Familiarity with medical terminology, laboratory processes, and specimen handling.
• Valid Driver’s License: Required for the transportation of specimens and supplies.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously with clients, customers, and coworkers.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
• Great Time Management when conducting sample pickups.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use laboratory management systems and online portals.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, particularly during high-volume periods.

Job Type: Full-time 1pm - 9:30pm

Pay: $40,000.00 - $44,000.00 per year
