Special Education Teacher - 7th-8th ( Resource )

Location: 1445 West Baseline RD Phoenix, AZ 85041
Salary Range: $48,331.25 - $54,571.89 + $10K SPED Cert Bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Use AMS curriculum standards to teach students above and below grade level through a differentiated approach

  • Attend weekly professional development sessions and meetings with grade-level teams/professional learning communities

  • Communicate effectively with parents and lead parent-student-teacher meetings to facilitate progress both in and outside the classroom

  • Coordinate with administrators and other staff members to create an environment focused on meeting students’ academic and behavioral needs

  • Use measurable data to track student performance and enhance student outcomes with visible results

  • Collaborate with network and school teams to continuously improve instructional practices and student achievement

  • Utilize PBIS and preventative intervention strategies to guide students in developing social and emotional skills that support lifelong learning

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Arizona State Certification in Special Education

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education OR a Bachelor’s in a related field with at least two years of K–8 teaching experience

  • Passion for supporting Title I and ESL students in underserved communities

  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain an IVP fingerprint clearance card

  • Strong analytical and data-driven instructional skills

  • Adaptability and willingness to deliver an established, rigorous curriculum

  • Collaborative mindset and initiative to contribute to a high-performing team

Compensation and Benefits:

AMS offers a generous base salary, comprehensive benefits package, and multiple opportunities for professional growth and additional income.

  • $10,000 State SPED Certification Stipend

  • Performance bonuses averaging over $2,200 per year (up to $3,400)

  • Relocation stipend of up to $5,000 for out-of-state hires

  • 401k retirement plan (optional, with employer match)

  • Professional development including comprehensive training, ongoing coaching, and regular check-ins

  • Additional stipends averaging $2,300 for afterschool intervention/tutoring and $2,000 for leading extracurricular clubs or sports
