We are currently seeking a highly qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team and support our efforts in providing outstanding special education services.

Position Overview:

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) plays a critical role in supporting students’ communication development to enhance academic achievement, social interaction, and overall functional performance. Utilizing expertise in speech, language, and communication disorders, the SLP collaborates with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to assess, diagnose, and provide intervention services. This position involves conducting evaluations, developing individualized therapy plans, providing direct and consultative services, and advocating for inclusive and equitable practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observation, Assessment, and Evaluation:
  • Observe students in academic and non-academic settings to determine the need for referral and evaluation.
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to assess articulation, language, fluency, voice, and pragmatic communication skills.
  • Administer standardized assessments, screenings, and informal measures to gather data on students’ communication abilities.
  • Interpret evaluation results to identify communication disorders and determine eligibility for services under IDEA and Article 7.
  • Develop clear, comprehensive evaluation reports with recommendations for intervention and educational programming.
  • Intervention and Therapy:
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned to students’ IEP goals.
  • Provide direct speech-language therapy services in individual and group settings.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to improve communication skills across settings.
  • Support generalization of skills into the classroom and other natural environments.
  • Consultation and Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to integrate communication strategies into instruction.
  • Provide consultation to staff regarding accommodations, modifications, and communication supports.
  • Partner with parents/guardians to support communication development at home.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including case conferences and IEP meetings.
  • Data Collection and Progress Monitoring:
  • Collect, analyze and report data to monitor student progress toward IEP goals.
  • Adjust intervention strategies based on data and student response.
  • Maintain accurate and timely service logs and documentation.

Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with district policies.
  • Complete required Medicaid billing documentation in a timely and accurate manner for eligible services, ensuring alignment with service logs and IEP requirements.

Reporting

  • Oral Reporting – Provide feedback during and following evaluations and team meetings regarding student performance and recommendations.
  • Written Reporting – Prepare and comprehensive evaluation reports, progress reports, and IEP documentation.
  • Progress Reporting – Provide regular updates on student progress toward communication goals.

Scheduling:

  • Develop and maintain a service delivery schedule that meets IEP requirements.
  • Coordinate schedules with staff to minimize disruption to instructional time.
  • Maintain an up-to-date electronic calendar within contracted days.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid state licensure and/or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • Knowledge of speech-language development, disorders, and evidence-based intervention strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices.

Working Conditions:

The Speech-Language Pathologist typically works in a school setting during regular school hours. The role involves collaboration with educators, administrators, and related service providers, as well as communication with families and outside agencies. The work environment may include therapy in classrooms, small group settings, or dedicated therapy spaces. The ability to sit, stand, bend, and move between locations is required. The position may involve lifting materials or equipment up to 50 lbs and performing tasks such as documentation and data entry.

Job Types: Contract, Full-time

Pay: $53,500.00 - $97,233.00 per year
