Position Summary:
BASES is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of diverse learning needs and be able to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), intellectual disabilities,1 and other learning challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, students, and other members of the IEP team.
- Create and deliver engaging and differentiated instruction that meets the diverse learning needs of students.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including visual aids, hands-on activities, assistive technology, and behavior management techniques.
- Create and maintain a positive and inclusive environment that fosters student learning and social-emotional growth.
- Collaborate with parents, families, and support staff to ensure student success.
- Maintain accurate and timely student records, including progress reports, IEP documentation, and other required paperwork.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay abreast of current research and best practices in special education.
- Adhere to all relevant educational standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid state teaching certification with appropriate special education endorsements.
- Must Have experience teaching students with disabilities
- Strong understanding of various disabilities, including ASD, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and learning disabilities.
- Excellent management and behavior management skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with kids, parents, and colleagues.
- Passion for working with children with diverse learning needs and a commitment to student success.
