SFS School, Narengi is looking for an experienced and certified Spoken English & Phonetics Teacher to strengthen students’ foundational communication and pronunciation skills. The role requires strong expertise in phonetics and spoken English, with the ability to guide young learners in developing clear pronunciation, articulation, intonation, and overall communication confidence.
The ideal candidate will adopt a student-centered approach, use innovative teaching methods, and align with the school’s vision of academic excellence and holistic development.
Qualifications:
- Postgraduate in English, Linguistics, or Language Studies (specialization in Phonetics preferred), with a focus on early childhood or elementary education.
- B.Ed./D.El.Ed. is mandatory.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant teaching or training experience in phonetics, spoken English, or communication skills.
- Additional certifications in Phonetics, ELT, Voice & Accent, or Communication Training will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons on phonetics, pronunciation, stress, rhythm, and intonation, aligned with the CBSE English curriculum.
- Use the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), phonetic drills, and interactive activities to enhance spoken English skills.
- Design innovative classroom exercises such as role plays, recitations, tongue twisters, and storytelling to build articulation and confidence.
- Identify and address mother-tongue influence (MTI) and pronunciation challenges among students.
- Conduct regular assessments and provide constructive feedback to monitor students’ communication progress.
- Integrate audio-visual aids, phonetic software, and digital resources to make learning engaging and effective.
- Support students in improving oral communication for debates, presentations, elocutions, and public speaking.
- Collaborate with English faculty to incorporate spoken English practice across subjects and grade levels.
- Maintain academic records and contribute to broader student development and language enrichment initiatives.
