Job Title: Spoken English Teacher – Adults Program (Part-Time ) About the Role

Ramana Learning Center is seeking a dynamic and empathetic Spoken English Teacher to conduct classes for adult learners aiming to improve their English fluency, pronunciation, and conversational confidence for personal and professional growth. The ideal candidate will be passionate about adult education, communication skills, and creating an encouraging, interactive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct interactive Spoken English classes for adult learners at varying proficiency levels — from beginners to advanced speakers.
• Design and deliver engaging lessons focusing on real-life communication, workplace conversation, pronunciation, and confidence-building.
• Facilitate group discussions, role-plays, debates, interviews, and public speaking exercises to enhance fluency.
• Use practical examples and scenarios related to everyday life, business, and social interactions.
• Provide personalized feedback to help learners identify and improve specific weaknesses in speech or grammar.
• Develop and update lesson plans, handouts, and speaking activities aligned with the program’s goals.
• Track student attendance and progress; share feedback with program coordinators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, Education, or a related field.
• Proven experience teaching Spoken English, Communication Skills, or ESL to adult learners.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.
• Strong interpersonal and motivational skills; ability to connect with adult learners from diverse backgrounds.
• Familiarity with adult learning methodologies and digital teaching tools (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

• TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA certification.
• Experience teaching professionals, immigrants, or adult community learners.
• Knowledge of cross-cultural communication and soft skills training.

Work Details

• Location: On-site at Ramana Learning Center (Charlotte area)
• Schedule: Flexible — weekday mornings
• Compensation: $25–$30 per hour (depending on experience)
