POSITION SUMMARY

The SQL Developer Business Analyst plays a central role in designing, developing, and optimizing the data systems that support Pero Family Farms’ continued growth. This position blends SQL development, data modeling, analytics, cloud solutions, and business application administration to ensure our teams have accurate, actionable information.

This is a role for a technical problem-solver—someone who thrives at the intersection of data, systems, and business operations. You will support everything from enterprise applications to large-scale datasets, helping build solutions that drive efficiency, insight, and strategic clarity across corporate and operational functions.

Requirements:

JOB OVERVIEW

SQL Development

• Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database functions.
• Build and maintain SSIS packages to automate data workflows and processes.
• Ensure efficient, scalable handling of data supporting daily business operations.

Business Application Administration

• Administer and maintain core business applications to ensure data integrity and optimal performance.
• Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and enhance application functionality.
• Troubleshoot application issues and drive continuous improvements.

Data Modeling & Solution Architecture

• Architect and design robust data models, utilizing Entity-Relationship (ER) diagrams to illustrate data structures.
• Develop scalable solutions using cloud services, ensuring integration with big data and data lake technologies.
• Ensure data structures support both operational efficiency and long-term growth.

Big Data & Cloud Technologies

• Leverage big data platforms for processing large datasets and extracting valuable insights.
• Utilize MS Azure, AWS, and Snowflake to design, implement, and manage cloud-based data solutions.
• Support the development of data lakes and big data initiatives.

API Development & Integration

• Leverage and manage APIs to facilitate data integration between various systems and applications.
• Ensure secure and seamless data exchange across key platforms.

Data Science & Analytics

• Apply data science techniques to analyze datasets, perform statistical analysis, and build predictive models.
• Utilize Python or similar programming languages for data manipulation, reporting, and automation tasks.
• Deliver clear, actionable reporting to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Database Administration

• Assist in SQL Server database administration tasks, including performance tuning, monitoring, backup, and recovery operations.
• Maintain compliance with data security, retention, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to improvements in database reliability, uptime, and long-term performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field.

Experience

• 5+ years in SQL development with direct experience building and maintaining SSIS packages.
• Proven experience in business application administration, system integrations, and data modeling.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in SQL and database design principles.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, including Azure, AWS, and Snowflake.
• Working knowledge of big data technologies and data lake architectures.

Programming Skills

• Working knowledge of Python or similar languages for automation, analytics, and data processing.

Analytical Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex data concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Soft Skills

• Collaborative, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams supporting both corporate and operational environments. Limited travel may be required for project work, training, or stakeholder engagement.
