Blu Omega is seeking a skilled and experienced SQL DBA to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database design, development, and management. This role involves leading the design, development, and implementation of robust and scalable database solutions that meet business requirements within an AWS cloud environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of database solutions in AWS.
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
- Create technical specifications and design documents.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging of database applications.
- Ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Maintain and ensure adherence to CI/CD pipelines within AWS-based environments.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Install, configure, manage, and upgrade SQL Server databases hosted on Amazon RDS and/or EC2 instances.
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies using AWS services (e.g., Multi-AZ deployments, snapshots, automated backups).
- Monitor database performance and health using AWS tools such as CloudWatch and Performance Insights, and optimize queries and configurations accordingly.
- Collaborate with cloud and networking teams to configure and manage database-related AWS resources, including IAM roles, VPC settings, and security groups.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience working with database systems, including experience as a database designer and/or data modeler.
- Strong experience installing, configuring, upgrading, and managing SQL Server databases in AWS environments (Amazon RDS and/or EC2).
- Broad and up-to-date knowledge of information technologies and associated best practices, especially data-management technologies and cloud database practices.
- Strong experience with SQL programming and query optimization.
- Knowledge of AWS backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Familiarity with AWS services related to database administration, including IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and AWS Backup.
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines in a cloud-based environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
