The Sr. Accountant is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. The role ensures accurate bookkeeping, timely payments/collections, statutory compliance (GST, TDS, etc.), and supports management with financial analysis for decision-making.
- Accounting & Financial Management
- Maintain accurate books of accounts (sales, purchase, expenses, payroll, etc.).
- Monitor daily accounting entries in ERP/software.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely vendor payments and customer collections.
- Reconcile bank accounts, supplier ledgers, and customer accounts regularly.
- Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Compliance & Statutory Responsibilities
- Ensure timely filing of GST returns, TDS, and other statutory compliances.
- Handle PF, ESI, and professional tax compliances for employees.
- Coordinate with auditors for statutory audits, tax audits, and internal audits.
- Maintain proper documentation for tax assessments and government inspections.
- Stay updated with financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Team Management & Coordination
- Supervise and guide the accounts team in day-to-day operations.
- Allocate tasks for billing, bookkeeping, and reporting.
- Train team members on accounting standards, compliance, and software usage.
- Work closely with procurement, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth financial transactions.
- Act as the financial advisor to management for budgeting and cost control.
- Reporting & Analysis
- Generate daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports for management.
- Analyse financial performance, highlight variances, and suggest corrective actions.
- Monitor working capital, cash flow, and fund requirements.
- Support management in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Assist in identifying areas of cost reduction and profitability improvement.
